Two behind-the-scenes docs, a gag reel and a video commentary of making-of material instead of the movie augment the DVD version of this cultish Dark Castle film.

Ultimate Matrix Set
Out from under the cloak of secrecy, we proudly reveal the completion of The Matrix saga across ten DVD's. Anchoring the myriad scene analyses and process studies are two crucial documentary films; Return To Source and The Hard Problem.

Return To Source
When the first Matrix production got going back in ’'97, all key cast and crew were given a reading list to tackle before being given scripts. One of the books was Out of Control, a survey/study of the various theories around machine/computer evolution and ‘"domination" over man. We returned to the author, Kevin Kelly, for a lengthy interview before embarking on an odyssey of our own, interviewing well over 80 intelligent minds for the two films included as “"Roots of The Matrix”. Return To Source explains causality, determinism, ideology and iconography and other heady hints woven throughout the Matrix stories. The explainers of these philosophies are themselves scholars, experts, visionaries and iconoclasts, making for a lively discussion of this sci-fi story as interpreted philosophically.

The Hard Problem
Can robots take over the world? Can a fully immersive virtual reality exist? The Hard Problem continues into the realm of science when analyzing the same issues as the philosophic study. Where is Artificial Intelligence today, and where is it headed? Is The Matrix a plausible fantasy of some realistic future? We went back to school with some of the brightest minds, many controversial in their field, all mavericks pushing at the envelope of possibility, to bring this engaging topic to screen.

Burlyman Chronicles
The Chronicles stand as a benchmark example of the many other features and facets of the content we've created. From commentaries to frame by frame dissection, over 30 hours of new material was generated for this collection. Burlyman Chronicles is a feature-length linear verite narrative from day 1 to day 270 in the making of Reloaded and Revolutions. We present the working life of this team of hundreds as they pursue the goals of each shoot day, from the director brothers to the floor painters. It is a human tale of the Herculean task to create the science fiction of The Matrix universe.

Starsky & Hutch
Comedic content and somewhat straightforward interviews with the very funny Ben Stiller and enigmatic Snoop Dogg were created and generated for the DVD release of this film based on the original TV series. Original content developed with Todd Phillips and the cast complement the humor of the movie while spoofing the typical Behind The Scenes process.

Gothika
Learn more about the young director Mathieu Kassovitz as the cast and crew outline the making of Gothika. A focus on visual effects and a commentary with the director and the DP are also featured. Interviews with Halle Berry, Penelope Cruz and Robert Downey Jr. round out the extra content on the DVD release.

Spider-Man 1 Collectors Edition
At long last we are able to complete a portion of the documentary features created during the making of the original Spider-Man movie. The features will be presented with the upcoming Collector's Edition of the film.

Thumbsucker
Director Mike Mills brings us this small independent film with a stellar cast. Interviews and documentation of the production with Keanu Reeves, Tilda Swinton and Vincent D'Onofrio will be featured on a DVD release of this Sundance favorite, based on the novel by Walter Kirn.

Matrix Revolutions
For the DVD release, we created dynamic verite multi-angle components and in depth documentaries detailing the work of ESC and the miniatures department. We also generated television specials for HBO, TBS and the International market. These were very well received and ranked very high in the ratings.

Matrix On Line
Massive Multi Player On Line Games are the future of gaming, and this title, produced by the Wachowskis, promises to be an epic. We detail the early phases of the games development with writer Paul Chadwick and the Monolith team.

Animatrix
A look at respective styles of the seven directors behind the Animatrix films is complemented by an investigation into the history and culture of Japanese animation. In total, we add an additional one and a half hours of material to this already packed disc.

Enter The Matrix
The video game is a companion piece to Reloaded, and features over 1 hour of additional narrative. We explore the world that the game exists within, and talk to the key developers behind the project. Our documentaries appeared as cover mount discs with various gaming magazines, as well as a companion disc included with the game itself.

T3, The Game
More work with our friends at Atari, this time profiling the innovations that went into the creation of the new Terminator 3 video game featuring interviews with the cast, including interesting remarks by Arnold Schwarzzeneger. Romeo Must Die
For this WB release, in addition to an HBO special, we created fourteen special features, detailing the stunt work, fight choreography and production design of the feature.

Yuzen On Surf
The Yuzen family is one of the oldest manufacturers of Kimonos in Japan. Centuries ago, they developed techniques for dyeing and painting the silk, resulting in elaborate, intricate designs. These techniques are still in use today. Every year Yuzen chooses a modern collaborator to make use of their product in a unique way. In Yuzen On Surf, Takuji Masuda combines the old-world craftsmanship of Yuzen with some of the modern masters of the surfing industry. This film documents two ways in which Takuji brought the silk to the sea. First, selected Yuzen fabrics were used in the finishing of seven high-performance surfboards. Takuji then re-created five modern paintings in Yuzen technique, the resulting silks were then sewn into Aloha style shirts. Both the boards and shirts were put to use in the thundering surf of Oahu, and then displayed in Tokyo.

I Am An Icon
Todd Terry ia a legend in the world of House Music. He was one of the originators of the genre; a warehouse party dance music craze that originated in Chicago and New York and moved rapidly throughout the world, pre-dating raves and modern Electronica. This short documentary profiles Mr. Terry for Channel 4 in the UK.

Independent films by the director and visual artist, Doug Aitken:
Blow Debris

After the world has been thoroughly disintegrated, suddenly the process reverses, and everything comes together again into an order more perfect than before but devoid of human inhabitants.

Diamond Sea
Unlike a documentary, Diamond Sea is a visual experience, incorporating music and film on multiple screens to capture the bizarre landscape of Diamond Area 1 &2 in the country of Namibia. The film was shot entirely inside a zone that had been sealed off from outside access for 90 years. This visual journey shows high tech diamond mines an unforgiving desert along an even harsher coastline.

Electric Earth
Electric Earth makes the unseen link between the electrified texture of our urban environment and the nervous beat of our own bodies. It deals with the unattainability of the absolute present. "Electric Earth" won the Primo Internazaionale, best international artist award, at Italy's 48th Venice Biennale. "Electric Earth" was featured in the prestigious Spring 2000 Biennial Exhibition at the Whitney Museum of Modern Art.

Eraser

Described as a nature docu-myth. A linear film of a seven-mile trek across the tiny Caribbean island of Monserrat in 1998, nearly two years after the dome of the Soufrières volcano collapsed. A strange landscape that begins with views of the shore to foliage trying to emerge from the newly formed abstract barren contours of lava rivers through the deserted town. The film builds from the restrained momentum of desolation toward strange glimpses of abandoned bulldozers, empty stores, and burned-out huts; staccato shots of a deserted airstrip; the sudden appearance of a lost herd of cattle; and finally the desolation of the landscape mirrored in the overcast sky. Also presented on multiple screens in surround-sound.

Cathouse
Cathouse; a room-size, kitty scratch box with carpeted walls into which were inset three monitors showing three people making repetitive and tense gestures. This film stars Iggy Pop in the role of the patriarch.

Monsoon
Traveling into the depleted rain forests of Guyana, 'Monsoon' explores the haunted landscape of Jonestown, some twenty years after the tragedy that befell the commune there. Originally installed at the 303 Gallery in NYC, it now travels to select European museums as part of Mr. Aitken's archive.
